Many children today never get the chance of experiencing music in the school system. In many communities, music education is given very little support, if any at all, and because of budget cuts; music programs have been stripped of funding or completely cut. Music education that incorporates digital instruments and current genres will have a direct impact and appeal to current generations. Educators and psychologists agree that helping young minds tap their creativity is just as important as mastering math and English skills.
The nations top business executives agree that arts education programs can help repair weaknesses in American education and better prepare workers for the 21st century (Business Week). It is shown that children learning music excel in math and science and music education aids students in skills needed in the workplace: flexibility; the ability to solve problems and communicate; the ability to learn new skills, to be creative and innovative, and to strive for excellence.
An external academy allows for the ability to service a wide audience of students throughout SoCal.
